PE Global is currently recruiting for a Material Handler for a Packaging Company based in East Cork
The client is looking for candidates with a good work ethic and attitude.
This is an initial 6 months contract position.
Pay rate is €15.08 + 10% Shift Premium
Candidates will be assigned either a 3 or 4 Cycle Shift Pattern, involving days/nights Monday to Friday roster. Shift times will be 8am to 8pm or 8pm to 8am – 12 Hour Shifts
Training is classroom based and working hours for this duration only are generally 8am to 4.30pm – to be confirmed.
After that shifts will be allocated as per below
12-hour shifts
Shifts run day and nights Monday to Friday – no weekends!
Alternates between 3 shifts one week and 4 shifts the next week
Example of schedule (subject to change – and will be clarified during training) is as follows:
first week would be 2 day shifts then 1 day off and 2 night shifts
following week would be 3 day shifts (Wednesday/Thursday/Friday)
following week would be 3 night shifts (Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday)
following week would be 2 day shifts then 1 day off and 2 night shifts
Duties of the role/Responsibilities
Material movement: Load, unload, and move materials by hand or using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks.
Storage and organization: Store materials in designated areas, keep material loading area clean and orderly, and ensure items are properly stacked and organized.
Inventory management: Conduct physical counts of incoming shipments, monitor inventory levels, order materials from warehouse daily
Order fulfilment: Pick, pack, and prepare materials for shipment based on production schedules, work orders, or customer orders
Equipment operation and maintenance: Operate and perform basic maintenance on material handling equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols and keep loading and docking areas clear.
Required Skills:
Physical stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
Equipment operation: Proficiency in using or operating equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (a certification for forklift operation is advantageous).
Attention to detail: Strong focus to ensure accuracy in counting, tracking, and picking items.
Organizational skills: Ability to maintain an orderly work area and manage inventory effectively.
Basic computer skills: Ability to use inventory management software and other computer systems for record-keeping.
