About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join a well-established Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) supporting children and young people aged 0–18 years with complex needs.

Working as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of Assessments of Need (AON) under the Disability Act 2005, providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment and intervention in line with the HSE National Programme for Progressing Disability Services.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll deliver Assessments of Need within the South Kildare / West Wicklow CDNT, applying strong clinical reasoning and evidence-based Occupational Therapy practice. You will carry out standardised and non-standardised assessments, identify functional needs in self-care, productivity and leisure, and provide tailored recommendations to families and support teams. The role also involves communicating assessment outcomes effectively, participating in multidisciplinary meetings, managing your caseload efficiently, and ensuring all interventions are person-centred and goal-oriented.

Requirements

  • BSc in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification recognised by CORU)

  • CORU registration (essential)

  • Minimum 3 years’ full-time post-qualification experience

  • Experience providing supervision to junior staff or students

  • Previous experience in children’s disability or paediatric settings (desirable)

  • Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle

  • Eligible to work in Ireland (no sponsorship available)
