PE Global are working with a semi-state energy generation organisation to recruit a Sub-Station Design Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. This role is available in multiple locations throughout Ireland.

Opportunities are open nationwide across: Donegal, Sligo, Galway, Athlone, Carlow, Kilkenny, Dublin, Dundalk, Drogheda, and Cavan.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing high-voltage substations, from planning and scoping to detailed layouts, schematics, and wiring schedules.
Preparing health & safety documentation and design risk assessments.
Providing technical support throughout construction and commissioning phases.
Acting as a key liaison with multi-disciplinary teams, external contractors, and stakeholders.
Ensuring designs comply with safety legislation, quality standards, and best practice.
Using industry-leading tools like AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation, or E-Plan.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical design or HV substation projects.
Strong CAD/CAE system skills (MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar).
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications: Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate or Level 7+ in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Building Services with strong electrical content.

Desirable:
