My client, a reputable and progressive multinational, is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team in Cork. This is a permanent role offering a very competitive salary, full benefits, significant career progression and a hybrid working policy.
The Role:
- Cultivates and sustains strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for financial and operational objectives.
- Contributes to the development and continuous oversight of service standards and manages service-level agreements to drive accountability and performance.
- Participates in the design, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement of key performance indicators (KPIs), promoting a culture of continuous improvement across financial operations.
- Ensures the integrity of the general ledger and full compliance with the Worldwide Controller’s Manual, as well as all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
- Manages timely and accurate month-end close processes, including the review and posting of accounting transactions, analysis and reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet accounts, and resolution of discrepancies.
- Ensures all financial records adhere to U.S. GAAP, maintaining robust internal controls and consistently upholding corporate policies and procedures.
- Serves as a key liaison for internal and external audits, providing accurate data and clear communication to support quarterly, interim, and year-end audit activities.
- Assesses existing processes, identifies opportunities for efficiency, and implements improvements to enhance financial operations and reporting.
- Supports the design, implementation, and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting in alignment with corporate governance and compliance standards.
- Collaborates effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders, ensuring transparency and shared understanding across functions.
- Accountable for financial reporting and compliance with both U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards.
- Acts as an advocate for the Global Financial Services model, contributing to the ongoing evolution of finance architecture and operating philosophy.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and leadership skills, effectively working across diverse teams and geographies while developing and mentoring team members.
- Quickly establishes credibility with cross-functional and cross-cultural audiences; skilled at influencing stakeholders at various organizational levels.
- Brings significant experience in global finance operations within a multi-location, multinational corporate environment.
- Willing and able to travel as required; provides flexible support during U.S. business hours approximately 2–3 days per month.
Requirements:
- Fully Qualified Accountant – ACCA, ACA,CPA or CIMA
- 2 Years PQE
- Multinational Experience an advantage
- Knowledge of US GAAP essential
- Forward thinking individual who can work off their own innovative
- Experience working with ERP’s also essential
- The ability to meet strict deadlines in a timely and efficient manner
