PE Global is currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Project Engineer on behalf of a leading global manufacturer. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional to support and deliver a portfolio of containerisation improvement projects within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Location: Desford

Contract duration: 6-months

Rate: £35.06 per hour PAYE

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery

  • Lead and deliver containerisation-related projects from concept through to implementation.
  • Define project scope, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities across operations, supply chain, and engineering teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Drive projects forward and remove barriers to delivery.

Manufacturing Engineering

  • Support and implement process improvements within a production environment.
  • Assist with the installation, commissioning, and optimisation of equipment and tooling.
  • Analyse existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
  • Develop and standardise operating procedures and best working practices.

Process Development & Stability

  • Establish robust and repeatable containerisation processes.
  • Identify and address process variation using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Deliver practical, sustainable, and scalable solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Use operational data and shopfloor observations to identify performance gaps.
  • Drive improvement initiatives aligned with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Support the long-term development of capability and process maturity within the area.

Required Experience:

  • Manufacturing Engineering background.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering projects within a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to both plan and physically execute engineering changes.
  • Experience supporting equipment installations, commissioning activities, or manufacturing process changes.

Desirable Experience

  • Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or operational excellence experience.
