Data Scientist – Protein Design – West Coast USA

My client a patient centred Research & Development pharmaceutical company has an exciting opening for an experienced Data Scientist from a Protein Design background. I am interested in talking to an experienced computational scientist looking to join a leading pharmaceutical company with multiple on-going drug discovery pipelines.  

You will be joining a highly motivated team of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Data Scientists developing Small Molecule Degraders. A significant part of this role will be identifying, designing and developing advanced machine learning methods for the development of targeted protein degradation drugs. You will be studying and interpreting high dimensional molecular data with the aim to develop machine learning models to enhance functional, biophysical properties of proteins, peptides and new molecular for future drug development. You will gain a lot of exposure with cross functional teams and external partners.

Qualifications & Experience

• PhD in Computational Chemistry, Biophysics, Bioinformatics
• Minimum 3 years postdoc experience
• Able to develop, design ML algorithms
• Broad knowledge of protein degradation
• Statistical modeling, high dimensional data
• Bioinformatic pipelines for functional genomics, MS/proteomics
• Sequence analysis, structure modelling
• Deep learning neural networks
• Parallel computing, relational databases
