Director of Nursing

PE Global Healthcare are delighted to assist their client to recruit a Director of Nursing for a well established purpose built Elderly Care Residence in West Cork. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced care home manager to progress their career and work for a strong organisation with excellent support from central Operations, Governance, HR and Finance Departments.

This is a full time, permanent position.

Role Responsibilities:  

• Lead in the delivery of high standards of nursing care in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Provide mentoring, support, and professional development opportunities to nursing staff, ensuring ongoing education and training.
• Conduct internal audits and report on home KPI’s and ensure compliance with HIQA standards and regulatory guidelines
• Handle resident and family concerns in a compassionate and timely manner, ensuring their satisfaction and trust in care services.
• Work closely with senior management to develop and implement policies and procedures that align with the strategic goals of the nursing home.
• Participate in health and safety assessments and ensure that the facility meets all required health and safety standards.

Candidate Requirements: 

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Senior Nursing Management position in Care of the elderly (within the last 6 years).
• Post-registration management qualification (QQI Level 6 minimum)
• Currently registered with NMBI
• Proven track record of clinical, leadership and people skills
• Thorough knowledge of HIQA standards, regulations and the ‘HEALTH ACT 2007’
• Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
• Proven track record in decision-making ability
• Qualification in Gerontology is desirable
