Microbiology Analyst

PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Microbiology Analysts to join our client, a leading contract research organisation providing testing and research services in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sciences to clients worldwide. This is a permanent position and the site is in Dunboyne, Co Meath.

The purpose of this job is to serve as a member of the Engineering group within the client environment to support their technical tasks, to work to the highest standards in terms of quality and professionalism.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Perform quality sampling and sample management activities for pharmaceutical water systems.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Laboratory personnel on sampling scheduling and execution.
  • Manage sample storage and delivery in accordance with procedures.
  • Report issues with water systems, environment, sample-points or consumables which have the potential to impact sample quality.
  • Support sample alert and action limit investigations.
  • Manage own training curricula.
  • Raise reports as required, including safety.
  • The job-holder works as part of a multi-functional Utilities team and will be expected to be flexible and agile in support of the group’s overall mission.
  • Complete tasks with emphasis on safety, with reporting of, and following up on, safety items.
  • This person will be responsible for providing assistance for other members of staff as required
  • This person will ensure that all required documentation is completed on time, accurately and legibly.
  • Responsible for adhering to all company standards in the areas of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying management of any discrepancies.
  • As with all members of staff this person is responsible for ensuring that customers’ requirements are fully met and in so doing will be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Qualifications

  • Minimum of degree level in Microbiology or equivalent  
  • Minimum of 6 months relevant industry-based experience preferable (dependant on qualifications)

 

Experience / Skills

  • Ability to work independently and meeting established timelines.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Customer focus; takes personal responsibility for speed; quality and accuracy of delivery
  • Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure
  • Successful track record in achieving goals as part of a team within a growing, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility to support a growing organisation. 
  • Good understanding of requirements for working in a GMP environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to form strong working relationships with colleagues.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment with some supervision and be capable of developing solutions to problems as part of a team.
  • Willing to operate in a flexible manner and able to reuse both internal and external experiences and incorporate them into relevant improvements. Ability to switch priorities at short notice is desired.
  • Good team player, organised, accurate, have strong documentation skills.
  • Passionate about quality and customer service.
  • Good communication skills both internally and externally and avoids making mistakes that will hinder the understanding of his/her written and verbal exchanges.
