PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for a HR Manager to join our client, a Semi-State entity based in Kildare. This is a permanent role.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Senior HR Operations Manager this role is created to support the Human Resources agenda for the client and have operational responsibility for the delivery of this agenda within the organisation. This role will split its time between project implementation aligned to the strategic plan and business as usual items.

The appointee will be an experienced HR professional with a clear and proven HR career. They will be comfortable in leading the agenda on all areas of HR Policy & Systems, Employee Relations, Resource Planning and Talent Acquisition, Business Partnering and Employee Engagement. The ideal candidate will be strategic as well as hands on with a mindset of continuous improvement through a collaborative approach and a strong ability to work in ambiguity.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategic Project implementation:

  •   Work with the Senior HR Operations Manager to ensure that business leaders are supported to implement key project areas particularly in the areas of change management.
  •   Work with senior leadership to ensure the structure of our teams and roles across the organisation align with strategic objectives to ensure success.
  •   Ensure that key milestones, KPIS’s and timelines are in place for key project areas and that the people managers are clear on their roles and expectations regarding these areas of delivery.
  •   Pursue an active and progressive mindset on the incorporation of IT into HR Service Delivery and Change Management in order to utilise technology as well as people to optimise the service provided. 

 

HR Leader:

  •   Support, coach & develop line managers to build effective teams and to manage the performance of their employees through positive communication and engagement.
  •   Provide guidance, leadership, and consultation on all aspects of the employee experience including managing performance.
  •   Act as a HR leader by providing expert advice that enables effective performance of the team on all matters in relation to employee relations, organisation design, change management, reward, recruitment, and selection.

 

Employee Relations:

  •  Oversee all Employee Relations (including union negotiations) matters through the team in line with the organisation’s strategy and deciding when most appropriate to escalate.

 

Employee Engagement:

  •  Ensure that this agenda coupled with the internal communication agenda are grown and developed in the organisation.
  •  Develop initiatives for staff to enhance well-being, inclusivity and collegiality.
  •  Identify and implement actions to guide a customer centric approach to service delivery. 

 

Succession and manpower planning:

  • Develop the succession plan agenda in the  ensuring a sustainable long-term approach that aligns our resources and structures to deliver services and achieve our objectives in an optimal manner.

 

Performance Leadership:

  • Improve the quality of the performance management process in IHRB by ensuring that regular, constructive conversations take place to enhance performance.

 

HR Insights:

  • Provide a seamless ‘end to end’ service culture within the team, including identifying and implementing process engineering and other initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Revise and continually challenge HR processes and procedures to ensure best practice
  • Lead and collaborate on an annual benchmarking review to include payroll and pension administration.
  • Engage with Senior Management to agree monthly reporting and dashboard metrics including absence management, annual leave, performance management and other KPI’s to support people management through a data-driven evidence-based approach.

 

The Person:

  • Educated to degree level and CIPD qualified, you will be able to clearly demonstrate strong HR experience.  
  • 5-8 years’ HR Operations experience or equivalent, prior team management essential.
  • Qualified and accredited coach would be advantage.
  • Demonstrate a proven strategic and operational HR manager mindset, with a good sense of best practice across a range of sectors.
  • Detailed understanding of all aspects of HR, including reward & recognition, employee engagement, learning & development and organisation design.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills- both verbal and written. Strong track record in building effective relationships enabling the HR agenda to be delivered across teams and throughout the organisation.
  • Results driven with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills with strong business acumen and commercial credibility.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence, self-awareness and a bias for action.
  • Experience of delivering change programmes and learning and development initiatives.
  • Previous experience of working with employee representatives and/or trade unions.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail. 
  • Ability to prioritise and multitask while managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Mediation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and technology skills.
