Job Title: Field Service Engineer
Team /Function: Service Team
Reporting Manager: Service Manager
Contract Type: Permanent 40 hours per week
Location: Role based either from our Cork or Kildare office
Job Purpose:
The Field Service Engineer supports the service element of the Endress+Hauser offering by carrying out service activities on site in a manner that delivers efficient and effective outcomes for the customer and maintains a strong customer focus. The role will act as a brand ambassador for Endress+Hauser ensuring strong display of knowledge and competence in all interactions with our customers.
Responsibilities in the Role will include:
- Build meaningful customer relationships.
- Be prepared to participate and engage fully in training programs and contribute to your own personal development throughout your career with E+H.
- Carry out onsite repairs, service, commission, calibration and troubleshooting of E+H process instrumentation on customer sites as directed.
- Be prepared to work on third party equipment, as needed.
- Ensure that all equipment is both worked on, and left in, a safe manner for customers to use.
- Create service reports and associated paperwork for work completed in a timely manner using the provided software tools. A job is not completed on the part of the FSE until all qualified paperwork is handed over to the client. This is a key deliverable.
- Provide Instrument Support – helpdesk function- to customers when tasked by the Service Co -Ordinator using the provided software tools.
- Provide (if agreed) onsite customer training in applications, service and operations of the E+H products.
- Carry and maintain an effective set of tools and equipment to execute service activities successfully in your company vehicle. Relevant equipment will be provided.
- Proactively identify and communicate customer feedback in relation to sales, service and training opportunities back to your line manager using the software tool provided.
- Any other duties commensurate with your skills and experience and as directed by your manager in the development of the role and the service function.
Experience & Skills Required
- Degree, Diploma or time served in the field of Process Instrumentation & Control or in an associated technical background.
- Relevant experience in industrial measurement in Life Science / Pharma, Food & Beverage or Water / Waste Water Industries.
- Experience as a Service Technician / Engineer in a process instrumentation / control environment with a particular emphasis on commissioning / startup and troubleshooting would be viewed as a major asset.
- Full, clean, driving license.
- Good working knowledge of MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook. Training will be provided on any additional internal software deployed as part of the role.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout Ireland.
- Willingness to be flexible around working hours as the need arises.
- Willingness to take initiative and responsibility for customer problems to achieve resolution.
- Awareness of the necessary requirements in provision of a customer orientated, cost effective and profitable service.
- Excellent communication skills: clear and effective written and spoken communication ability.
Additions to note specific to the role
- Develop a thorough understanding of the E + H product range: Analysis, Level, Flow, Pressure, Data Recorders, Temperature, Digital Communication so as to perform all service activities.
- Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
- Requirement to travel overseas to our factory locations in the pursuit of training and knowledge development
