This position aims to bolster the current team of obstetricians by providing locum support for a duration of 12 months, specifically focusing on supporting the established Diabetes, Hypertension, and Cardiac high-risk antenatal clinics.
Main Duties of the Job :
The job plan for the maternity clinical lead will be finalized after appointment, but a sample includes duties like Maternal Medicine Antenatal Clinics, Delivery Suite, Maternity Assessment Unit, elective caesarean section lists, and Maternity Base ward rounds. Typically, it’s 7.5DCC, 1.5 SPA, and 1 PA. There’s also about 1 day per month on the Delivery Suite (08:30-20:30), covering Midwife Led Unit and Maternity Assessment Unit. Obstetric service aims for 24/7 resident consultant cover within 1-2 years. Responsibilities also include ‘Consultant of the Week’ ward rounds and attending meetings. Other clinical commitments are paused during this week.

- Primary medical degree of a recognised University
- Full registration and Licence to Practice with the GMC
- MRCOG or equivalent / CCT or equivalent
