PE Global Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Warehouse Manager to join our client, a leading supply chain services provider for the eCommerce Industry based in Waterford City. This is a permanent position and an excellent salary and benefits package is on offer to the right candidate.

Job Overview

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing day to day tasks within our logistics division, including receiving, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, product assembly and shipping of orders. Supervise and coordinate the activities of the logistics team members. Plan and prioritise work assignments for the team to ensure optimal workflow and productivity. Train and develop team members on proper procedures, safety protocols, and company policies. The ideal candidate is hands-on, extremely detail-oriented, and capable of managing various aspects of logistics at once.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Logistics:

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, product assembly, order picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure that all warehouse activities are conducted in compliance with company policies and procedures and are aligned with company goals.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and storage strategies to improve space utilisation and efficiency.
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics, by coordinating with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Oversee the scheduling and dispatch of deliveries, ensuring on-time and accurate shipments.
  • Monitor and optimise order picking, packing, and shipping processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve any fulfilment-related issues or inquiries.
  • Interact directly with customers ensuring all interactions are handled professionally and with exceptional customer service.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full inventory audits to ensure inventory accuracy and integrity.
  • Implement robust inventory control procedures to minimise discrepancies.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, train, and motivate the logistics team members to achieve operational excellence.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, providing feedback and coaching as well as development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and ensure that all staff are trained in safe work practices.
  • Ensure site is secure and equipment is maintained, checked and recorded.
  • Maintain a clean and organised warehouse facility.

Process Improvement and Efficiency:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the warehouse, fulfilment, inventory management, and logistics operations.
  • Implement methodologies that streamline workflows, reduce waste, and increase productivity.
  • Leverage technology and the warehouse management system (WMS) to automate processes and enhance data accuracy.

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on performance, including KPIs, inventory levels, and logistics metrics.
  • Use data analytics to identify trends, forecast future needs, and inform decision[1]
  • Maintain accurate records of all warehouse and inventory transactions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics, preferably but not required within the eCommerce industry.
  • Excellent IT skills with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial management in a warehouse environment preferred but no essential.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards for storage and distribution is preferred.
